I stumbled on one excellent idea recommended by AMD to improve the cooling performance of any heatsink that has a thicker bottom.
AMD suggested that on one side of the heatsink,
one can drill 3 or more 1/8 holes and fill it up with thermal grease(arctic silver not mentioned
but maybe preferable) to improve heat dissipation. You can easily plug the hole with J-WELD compound(my idea). This is a ingenius idea!! There are no commercial products available as of yet but this should easily improve the cooling of any heatsink. What say you?
