Silver closed today at $4.34/ounce, but two things you gotta remember --

1. Any heatsink will require some amount of machining. AFAIK you cannot get an adequately flat surface from a cast part. Also unless you run your own foundry (not likely), you don't order cast parts, you order cast blocks and then machine parts from them.

2. Supply and demand. The SK6 all-copper part runs $30, and copper is far more a commodity than silver.

3. The additional costs associated with storing a precious metal would also have to come in somewhere.

4. Silver corrodes (tarnishes) rather rapidly. This could have undesirable effects on the hetasink's performance. You would probably have to laquer-coat the final product, or alloy the silver somehow. (Is that possible with silver?)

That's all I can come up with right now, but work with that list and I bet you will scare up at least six more.
