Uh whats going on? Voodoo 5 vs tnt2?

do any of you guy splay mechwarrior 3? well you know at the start up screen the background moves and when you get on the bubbles they ripple and stuff right? well they do on my system which is a p3 667 wiht a tnt2 16mb card..but my friend who has a athlon 750 wiht a voodoo 5500 his background dont move..we set our settings the same and configured the voodoo but still no moving background? wth? anybody wihta similar setup? he runs 320 mb of ram too and i only have 128mb..
