If the problem is limited to old hardware and has only happened twice in three years, I would believe the old hardware has simply reached its end-of-life. But you can always try placing a surge surpressor or a cheap 5-port switch between the cable modem and your other hardware if you think the output from the modem may be 'spiking'. |
