just dedicating a USB pen drive to ReadyBoost, makes a difference...I tried it with mine, since it had data on it I could only get 1.8gig but noticed it did help a bit, so I transfered everything off the drive, reformatted, and then had 3.8 gig for ReadyBoost, a marked difference was realized....

as far as indexing goes, yes, in the beginning it really charges hard on the HD, however, I notice the activity is much less as the install ages....

so I am set up like this now

Virtual mems on 'C' set to 8196 min/max
8 gig of DDR2
3.8 gig of ReadyBoost

Vista is in love with memory in any form it seems....

I have virtually switched over, my XP install is just hanging for printing now....
