I yesterday I tried to overclock the BUS of my CPU, so I lowered the CPU multiplier to 8 the HT bus from auto to 1GHz, and the memory from 800 to 667, and then started to increase the FSB , so far so good, being on integrated graphics I was expecting to hit wall @ 250-270 because of that, but 300 came and went so did 350 and I settled for 400,(max that the board will allow) so I saved and restarted, I didn't boot first (gave a long and 2 short beeps) bur after another restar it was good, so far so good, after windows loaded to screen was full with graphical artefact, I didn;t miind that because I wanted to know if the system was in fact working @ that FSB I I loaded CPU-Z and whenere 10 minutes ago displayed 1000MHz BUS it was now 1600, if I'm not mistaking the final BUS would be 3200, so now to the bad part the CPU was cooler with a heatpipe cooler and 2x12CM cooler, afer abour 4 min in windows someting started to smell like overheated metal, when I tried to tuch the heatsink of the CPU I burned my finger, I said wow! someting's not right here, I loaded OCCT and It displayed 110C for core1 and 113 for core 2, after another 10 sec's it just shut down. I said OK big problem I tried to remove the heatsink, but no go, OK I then took some thernal gloves and I removed it, the cpu was just burning hot, I tried cool it with a fan with cool air for about 10 minutes, then I put it back in the socket, and reaplied AS5 then tried to start the system, it started but no dysplay output, I tried resseting the BIOS, again no go, I tried with a old PCI video card it started but it would just lock-up and shutdown, I tought I burned my CPU so I decided to thest the system with my old Athlon 64 and it boothed fine loaded vista, then I tried again with my X2, no go again, the afer a cuple of restarts it buged, then I wired error came in the boot screen, it was like Warning!!! System in SafeMode, frequnecy clock check error , please reset BIOS clock settings, I when into bios and loaded fail-safe default, and I worked. So what did I learned from this?: whell, I shoudn't try to overclock the BUS the Phenom levels, and the second lesson, I shoudn;t try to overclock the BUS to Phenom levels on a 60$ buget motherboard.

And I have a little question:

Why was the CPU heating that high?
