Kinda got the hang of XP-64.. running 8 Giggers of RAM on a dual Opteron (total 4 cores) and that system is something I can take and throw out the window and it'll still churning along.
I built that system for the guys who do all the national address verifications and where they need a googol of database computing power ... and with that one single system, they kicked out all their competitors based on computational speed.
Some apps won't see any improvements, that's true but any CAD etc.. smokin' ..
Even Vista 64 is pretty good, there are a bunch of exceptions about Vista in general and missing drivers and then there is that little problem of Vista AND 64 bit hitting the hardware just a bit harder than any 32-bit XP, no matter how FUBARed the install is. I guess FUBAR would have been a better name LOL... or make it RABUF to obfuscate it a bit
