I can't see how AMD can go anywhere other than into a bankruptcy acquisition by a capital management group within the next 12-15 months. Core2s and Quads outperforming the Phenoms almost acros the board, gradual marketshare erosion in the consumer sector, too much debt and a slow economy, and now they have dismissed a lot of good talent for short-term cost savings.

45nm could still hold some favorable surprises but Intel beat them to volume shipments on that, too. AMD could pull lazarus tricks in the K5/K6 days because they didn't have the debt burden. Now, however...
