Well, I think so.
I think the 500W PS started playing up a few weeks ago and it was getting harder and harder to kick things (HD's) over and then came home and all was as quiet as a mouse.
Changed PS out and got excited when the bottom Mobo LED lit up - but alas nothing from the start button. CPU=2.8GHz 478Pin
I have 3 options ....
Option1 - 2nd hand P4P800 Delux mobo = USD$150 approx
Option2 - New Core2Duo spec mobo, RAM, CPU >$500?
Option3 - 1yr old ebay Core2Duo spec mobo, RAM and >$300? CPU....
Option 1 might not work - maybe the CPU's damaged too. But it saves buying new RAM + CPU etc...Speed of the system was fine for Lounge HD HTPC though and funilly enuf I was thinking about an upgrade being due this year - just on my own terms though......:>(
Seeking thoughts on Options 2 or 3.....
PS - Dont need on board RAID or 10/100/1000, or IEEE, but I do run 6 Hard Disks from one PS.
