Have you tried removing the battery and let it sit[Power supply too-disconnect;before removing battery etc];and do the clear CMOS jumper thing with no battery and power supply.
Also;If it had one bad Cap; it might have more-even if they don,t show.I,m presuming you can solder and understand the importance of Positive aand negative with electrolytic caps. [if you got it round the wrong way ,it probably would have gone BANG by now.If not, a lot of heat in it]
