Sometimes all it takes is a pebble falling on top of a hill.

My home PC is about full, and I am too lazy/paranoid/anxiety prone to add a HD or buy new PC. So - at work, I tried Windows disk clean up tool, letting it do what it wanted on my PC, just to see how much it might save.

Then - I get an error about it wanting to restore windows files. Wanted my XP CD. I just cancelled the cleanup.

It warned me again - and the idiot said CANCEL again.

THEN - IE opened funny. Buttons missing or overlapping. Tried Norton's - won't launch. Error. Tried System Restore - same result. Won't reboot. So I hit the reset switch.

Just after the Windows logo - blue screen. All boot options give same thing. All repair attempts fail.

So I start repair install. Except XP SP2 seems to HAVE NO repair install like earlier versions.....

SO - I start fresh install. Reboot - ERROR. Over and over.

Turns out the damn thing was putting the BOOT files on one drive, and the WINDOWS files on another!!!!!

Open case, yank all IDE except c: and redo it. works fine.

I HATE COMPUTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
