I was given an HP 'something or other' computer as a computer shell with a cd-rom and floppy drive, Cyrix 686 MX processor/fan kit (already assembled on it), two 64mb pc133 ram cards all on a SIS 530 chipset 5595 ver C04 motherboard.

I have been looking all over the internet just to find out if I can get replacement parts for the outer case. After I ran a post test on the motherboard I found that there isn't any video, but I'm not certain if it's the cpu or board itself. Found an exact duplicate on ebay of the board $9.99, but the guy wants $49.99 for shipping and handling. Bummer. Must work for Fry's Electronics in Duluth, GA. Oddly enough I helpted train them.

Like you, I want to build this up just for fun, and to double partition a hard drive for it to run both windows 95 and 98 so I can still use all my old programs that nobody would ever buy.

My question is, not knowing exactly what HP computer it was, would the max ram on this be 256? Also, is the max cpu for it a AMD K6-2? Not many people into 'antique' computers. Ha, ha.
