Much to do about nothing... but I remember when on the OS side when 98*/Me had the limited VCache (I think it was really Fat formatting)of 512MB and many tried workarounds and even found by changing the prformance in the settings to Network Server help performance along with MaxFileCache setting...

I think Dan from from Tweakit did an article on the way the RAM read on different OS's (98 vs NT) and even compared it with the TX chipset...

and with the ALiMAGiK1 DDR performace when I switched to a single 512 stick from 2-256's on the IWill XP333R I noticed a big jump in performance as well and there were a few jumper tricks found on that mobo...
