If you're receiving warning and there is no way to clean it with what you have or tried.... the solution is to backup any data that is not infected and reinstall the OS....maybe seems harsh an hours of work but you can't have it both ways. Either live and dealwith it or start freash and clean it up....All because your friends Rig is not acting the same is meaningless as a Virus is a Virus and it may act differently on various systems but it's still there and within time will annoy the User, which is part of it's purpose, just as it's doing you right now!
