YES!! Sorry;i was just being pedantic about the way they present these things. As LED said "lost in translation". I,m well aware of the diagonal reference. But I,d say many a computer user/TV watcher, wouldn,t be.
-Never seen a round TV tube ,myself.[except an Oscilloscope CRT.]
I,ve an old panasonic TV [from the mid 70,s] 26" ,which i compared to a late 80,s Teac; with a 'Square tube'32". Same width;different height, and [of course]different diagonal. Both full resolution screens.Panasonic -Dot matrix pixels.-Teac-rectangular matrix pixells[which take up 3 times the space of the dot matrix pixels]Which is why the teac is 'Higher'. To fit in the larger pixels and achieve full resolution .
-They called it progress;i call it cheaper and nasty''.-
