also, be carefull when you pull the sata cable off the MB, the plastic stands have a habit of coming off with the Sata cable ezposing all the pins, making reattachment kinda impossiblewhen in da case..........
i had to remove the MB from the case to reinstall the stand, lining up the pins was a biatch.......
do you have a way of taking a pic and then hosting it for all to see your problem?
i wouldn't be soldering right away, you might be able to claim the plastic connector never came with the hard drive and exchange it.........
hopefully this is the last problem.......
