My new metro was like that it didnt do t good right away then after 1-2k miles I ended up getting 49 MPG on the freeway. Consider thou 5 gear for freeway & I drove like there was an egg under the gas pedal plus I did not go over 55 MPH. Thou I had 4 of us in the car so that 55 MPG was great, after awhile the metro did not do as well. I started driving normal & being a 4 banger as soon as I hit the A/C switch it was like tapping the brakes :>)
I had to get rid of the metro cause my family was afaid of the stick & cluching & I had to get there cars fixed while they used mine. My current car a 95 grand am is a 6 banger racing fool gas sucking pig, I dont drive it much after being retired over two years now. With the internet I have I dont need to travel much with my hobbies :>)
