I reread his posts as I was not sure either & he did try a different HD still he needs to make sure the interphase or the OS is not the problem. For all we know he could have a CMOS BIOS virus that is designed to lock windows. Anything is possible. Besides that is a tiny HD thats kind of small for the speed his system runs at, a mis-match to me.
BTW ruin 145 degrees C idle is normal.
