It is not a 6800GT its a 6800GT TDH & it was not mismarked & saved a $100 to $150 off the 16 pipeline price tag, besides Nvidia the maker of the video chips approved & were the ones selling them. Back in the beginning of may when I did the research I studied the 6600 (not enuf power for me) & the 6800, I knew I wanted Nvidia shader 3.0 was important to me ATI still had not added it to there chips yet, thou they claimed they would have it in time (I buy with the future in mind 12 to 24 months) . Anyways I found the price differences in the 6800's & I figured out why, then I figured the 12 pipe version was the best pick cause new video chips & cards were right around the corner spending the xtra money seemed to be a waste to me. My only beef is I cant over clock it to the speed of the regular 6800GT's. I had figured that being a broken 16 pipe chip that only had the broken section turned off I could get to the ultra's speed. I assume now this here chip is cheaper made version running near its limit now, or just really broken. I also figure the massive copper heat sink would help out to, I try not to block any xtra slots in my computers, thou I never use the slot next to the video card, there IRQ's are tied together. |
