I can't find a specific "uplink" port on the Netgear FS605 5-port switch. I tried inputing the line from the router into various ports (particularly #1 and #5) with no success. I also tried a cross over cable from the switch to one of the computers.

Now, I do have specific IP addresses for the 2 computers attached to the switch. Perhaps that is causing the problem. My next test is to try and adjust my network settings on the two computers and see if I can just use internet sharing to accomplish the task. Basically the same result I should think.

I have Goback on both machines so I'm not too worried about losing my network setup (I've only done this once....on these two boxes....and it took me a loooooonnnggg time to figure it out!!!). I use Windows 2000 Pro.

Thanks,
BH
