A typical SOHO broadband router will serve at least 50 IP addresses. If you branch a switch from the router -- assuming you correctly plug the cable from the router into the 'uplink' port on the switch -- the router should still serve each attached computer.

If you want to keep the office computers separately firewalled from the computers in the house, then a second router is in order.
