Ya back then it stayed that way, along long time to. It was along time before HD size was increased & the price remained high too. Back then we searched wholesale surplus places & Ham Swaps to save some cash. Also software was like gold you saved it all, cause anything new was along ways down the road.
Besides after buying all that expensive hardware there was not much money left over. I am glad that times are different now & only seems slow due to being very spoiled. Wonder what its going to be like in 20 years ?.
