In building my new machine I found out one important thing: the Asus A8N SLI Deluxe does not play well with the Plextor SATA DVD writer. It's taken me about a week to figure this out. I've reinstalled WinXP about 40 or 50 times this week trying to figure out why the machine was so unstable.

There may be light at the end of the tunnel. According to a forum I've found, I should be able to attach it to the Silicon Image 3114 RAID ports and get it to work. I'll try that this weekend. But first I want to play some Jedi Knight Academy
