Of course I never seen it before & I did a run, msconfig check & it was in there along with something else I did not install. So I unchecked them & rebooted. When I got back to win 98 I did a google search & found out this was a microsoft update which is giving big problems to many people. The link is below. The worst maybe win me & I thought some win 98 se. So I have not deleted the two files or removed from software uninstall or hacked the registry. As some people that have done that & have crashed there OS totally. MS techs have given different anwser's & taking all the info in I found, I decided the update is needed only it should not have been placed in the start up menu. As far as I could tell I was fine before, during & after the update & after the uncheck in msconfig to.
I think this is going to happen more often as each OS is nearing the end of its life cycle as deemed by MS. They just found a new way to make more money from OS's already paid for & on the RIP list.
