I have one in the machine I'm letting Lewis use. The damn thing takes fits reading. Has for a long time (a 10X ).Some times it reads others it quits and then if you open and close the drive it'll go back to reading. Wasn't ever used hard enough to hurt it. Pioneer's aren't the best readers if your copying er some certain CD's. I'm a Toshiba fan for those kind of things. And a huge fan of Plextor Burners for the same reason. Ask LED. Hehe! Asus leaves me cold too. Sorry.
Actually I think I'll just get me a Toshiba DVD ROM and later on get me a Plextor DVD/CD-RW burner. You never know when you need Plextor's muscle.
