Need PCI videocard for old system

I've put together a system out of parts collected over the years leftover from upgrades.
I'm looking for a PCI video card to replace a 4 MB S3 Virge that is painfully slow rendering 2D. I'd like something that can provide 32 bit color with at least a 85 Hz refresh rate for the desktop. 3D performance isn't too important but would be a bonus for old games. It must have current driver support so a Voodoo3 PCI wouldn't cut it.

256MB EDO RAM
250W Enlight PSU

I haven't bought any video cards in a long time so I don't know what to look for. Any advice would be appreciated.
