I just had a bad experience a couple years ago trying to set up an amd machine, after trying 3 mobos my dad gave up and bought p4 stuff which worked right away. personal experience I guess.

But if I'm bent on intel... is it not a good idea to pair that with an intel mobo?

also, should I bother with SATA? had some people tell me it's not worth it yet. That It's not really much faster than Ultra ATA yet. Plus I'm already familiar with IDE hookups/setups.
