No sanding is only needed before the 1st coat (sealer) and after the last coat (which is clearcoat),unless of course dust gets on it between coats then you wet dry off what is called the nibs and follow with polishing compound which that and the butterwax makes it shine.

1}Clean and Sand/Scuff 1200-1500
2}Clean and Sealer/Primer
3)Paint (recommend Automotive PPG)
4)ClearCoat and look for Nibs with light 1500+wetdry sanding on the spots
5)Polishing Compund, Wash, and Butterwax
