I think the LE versions are clocked lower. I was also under the impression that the ATI branded cards were faster than the outsourced ones.
For what it is worth I have been more than happy with my ATI 8500 (64mb) for a while now.
Me personally, I would stick to the real thing being that they are that closely priced.
64mb or 128mb? I don't think you will see that big of a difference.
