First off that onboard ECS AMR 56k modem will suck as the AMR uses your CPU cycles like crazy. Second off you may need to get the latest drivers from the ECS website. LAN's do take along time as they test & get a socket for you automaticly which you can change by giving it an address (someone else here can give you the idea). You can play with the Power Management setup in CMOS setup your sleeping modem change the setting, me I prefer to disable all PM in CMOS & in windows no problems that way, I also disable ACPI.
Now are you sharing IRQ's ?
Also when the LAN is enabled is the LAN stealing (sharing) someone else's IRQ ?
