The Klez virus gathers information from any webpage that anyone with an infected computer visits and if there is any email (contact) is posted, it uses this email address as a fake return address with any string of text embedded in the webpage as the subject line. That's why e.g. I am getting tons of undeliverable emails that allegedly originate from me but if you check the header, it is always someone else.

First, I thought it was a deliberate act of faking a wrong identity but after talking to Mike Magee, Adrian Silasi (SiSoft) and a few others we kind of nailed it down to that scheme.

bottom line, if you are running a webpage, some virus will grab your contact info and send out emails to whoever is in your address book, that is, as long as you use Outlook or Outlook Express.
