what I do. I take my old drive off (un plug it) and hook up the new drive as master, have it detected in BIOS, boot with the WIN98 Floppy, at the "A" prompt, type "FDISK, then go on my merry little way and set up that drive. (Partitions, Format it) Then I shut down and slave the new drive to my old drive and then copy
everything to the new drive.
