It's not Microsoft doing the work. It's another company called Coderus. This has the effect of allowing game developers to port their games to the Mac in a much shorter period of time.

Of course, you could always get a Mac, a Windows OS, and Connectix's Virtual PC for Mac software and start playing PC games on an Apple machine right now.
