Ok, this is continuing about the computer discussed last week below (FTL)

So we ran the western digital diagnostic test, it found an error and fixed it. We called them, gave them the error number, they said keep using the drive.

So we wrote zeroes to the drive and did a clean windows98 install. Everything went fine.
But in the next day or two since doing that, things that used to work fine aren't working so well.

For starters, sometimes it likes to run scandisk on startup even though it was shut down correctly (I think this might've actually been an issue before too) but my dad says that a couple of times it checked for cross-linked clusters too.

One time he got an error on startup about an invalid long file name (might've been blue screen error) but I guess he restarted and it was fine.

We installed AOL and it worked fine. He tried to run it again later after installing acrobat reader 4, and winbid (pilot scheduling software), and AOL gives an error on startup now. Never used to have problems with AOL.

Tonight he tried setting up his printer, but he came and told me that it was giving him rundll32 errors with that.

There are programs that do work too though.

This stuff just makes me wonder about the drive's integrity. Unless it's possible something else is broken. I dunno anything really tho... it's just frustrating when things that have worked before don't work.
