besides a NIC card have you ran scandisk but not the surface thou & defragged the HD lately ?.
Also how is your file system & virtual memory set ?. They are in start, control panel, system performance.
My file system is set to server & virtual memory set to 2 to 2 1/2 times the RAM thou now I am set @ one to one myself I do not open many windows. My network card has to find its own socket on the HUB & I have an automatic IP address now so I am alittle slower now.
