You can move a CAP a short distance with no problems all they are is like a battery stores power till needed. If you do not want to unsoldier it out you could buy a new cap & cut the old CAP out & soldier on wires to the top of the MoBo terminals (old CAP wires). Only do not reverse the + & - sides of the CAP no the MoBo also cover any bare wires on the cap. You can glue the cap down some where to just not to bare metal.
