KB's have there own computer & without power the KB would crap out.

Another idea is people hack BIOS's all the time if the EEprom can be replaced or piggy backed
with one that has the KB post routine bypassed then a USB KB could work for you then. You could get crazy & switch the mouse port with the KB port. Now if someone would do the BIOS hack job for you would be the big question I assume its not done much any more. I think the BIOS is compressed now days & the other problem is even if you disasemble the code its not explained & I do not think the BIOS companies give the info away.
