I have stalled on getting a backup IDE disk too long, but now I am reduced to running my Quantum fireball 3Gb I notice that it is soon going to be obsolete so I must get one as well as my RMA.

the 60GXP is the best price per gigabyte ratio and seems to be faster than the 75GXP and more reliable, so its a step in the right direction but the 120GXP is even faster, though as you say it hasnt been around long enough to know just what I would be getting into.

As I hope to be getting into high-ish standard hobby video (natural history) the volume and speed are desirable but having just experienced the disk failure I am feeling a bit neurotic...!
