No meat grinding sound on the old transistor jumping HD's boat ancors, loud parking & unparking of the heads thou. & no smells that I noticed either but back then I also had a cat @ the time & I do smoke cigs myself. & the 2 HD's I own that are acting up has nothing to do with RPM's. Never owned a GPX75 either good or bad. But I am hopeful I will get a current type HD
that does not spin up so that I can join the HD smoking club :>)
