Doesn't look like DDR SDRAM is speeding up that quickly. Currently on 166 MHz modules while RDRAM is ramping up production of the 1066MHz modules. When Intel jumps to the 133 MHz bus soon, RDRAM could be the only viable option since DDR SDRAM at even 166Mhz (333 double rate) would be considerably far behind in performance. RDRAM is here to stay until DDR SDRAM gets a whole lot faster (266 MHz).
Personally, I'd thus buy the RDRAM system. I'm using an RDRAM PIII and it's performance is fantastic. I'll probably get a P4 2.5 GHz 533/RDRAM when they are in abundance in June.
