Ok, I don't know what to do here short of replacing the motherboard. My server is just not performing up to it's potential. I reinstalled Windows2K and switched to the MPS Multiprocessor HAL instead of the ACPI Multiprocessor HAL, and the performance is still crap. Dual P3-733's and my dnet bench is only 1.7Mkeys on each CPU. With my single 933 I get 2.5Mkeys.

Here's the config:
Tyan Tiger 133 with 1.05 Bios
Dual P3-733 Coppermines (slot 1)
1gb (4 x 256) Mushkin PC133 at 2-2-2-5

When I run Sandra benchmarks, it gives me a warning that the CPU performance is unusually low for my hardware config. I have checked out other people's posted benchmarks with the same motherboard, and they are doing better with slower CPUs.

The VIA chipset is only supposed to be lacking in the memory performance, so what could be affecting my Whet/Dhrystone benchmarks like this? Could this be due to the CPUs having different core steppings? According to Intel, the two steppings I'm using are supposed to be compatible for SMP.

Looking for any suggestions you might have.
