yes grundig was selling one back in 1986 and no you do not need a pal tv if you have the dual sys vcr. a frined of mine back in winnipeg has german movies shipped to him regularly. back in 86 that grundig cost you about $2000 canadian, but i'm sure they are cheaper by now.

also many wedding film maker/cd maker/whatever shops offer conversion from one system/tape to the other. check your local yellow pages.


3. you can try looking for a german-american association/congress/society of (almost) any type and see if their clubhouse has something like that.
