I hear you, I have 12 PIIs and above and 1 P100 on a board for testing and besides the CDROMS in those, there aren't anymore on the shelf (I've looked)  .
My son ordered a Gold case off Ebay (that's the one I want Dad!), when it arrived it didn't look very good in person.
Most of the time it's just easier and cheaper to buy a case at the shows, instead of the power supply you need. My wife got her purple case because I wanted the power supply in it! My daughter liked the new Compaq Presario case(purple too), so I picked one up for $9.00 at a show a couple of months back.
I'd liked to have a clear case, but damn those are expensive.
As for the custom cases in Max PC, the ones with the fan grills on the outside look like crap. They need to recess those grills (they remind me of the old Barbecue grills).
