Every computer emits radiation, mostly electromagnetic fields (EMF) which can cause electromagnetic interference with other devices. This is exactly the reason why most computers nowadays are pretty much insulated using EMF traps (small grids that prevent EMF from leaking out e.g. across the fan holes). There is no hard radiation though that would linger on in a room, once the computer has been turned off. The risks associated with EMF exposure are not reall clear to me, mostly they are a concern to the FCC since they can kill wireless communication. A simple test is to use a cordless phone and go near an open computer / turn it off / close the case and get an idea of the interference that is generated.

You can try assessing Medline (you'd have to find it on google) and do a keyword search on EMF but I kind of doubt that there is too much risk since EMF (someone who used to be here a lot) runs his case open and never mentioned anything to me (and this guy is pretty much an authority on this subject)
