Ghost imaging

What has going wrong?
A friewnd ask me to upgrade hid harddisk;
he had a 1 gig with win95a fat16;
he would like to replace it by a 3.6 gig;
he want's to keep everything on the old 1 gig;
i devided the 3.6 in 2gig +1.6gig and took Ghost;
I copied partion from old 1 gig to partion 2 gig
from the new 3.56 gig;
everything went fine ,but:
After changing the cables the new Hdd boots perfect but in My computer d is before c ;
Why?
It should be c2gig) d1.6) etc.

Should i (better)use disk to pation?
