You did not mention the # of speakers you wanted
but Klipsch wins hands down, promedia series comes
in 2.1, 4.1 & out of your price range the 5.1 the link is below FTL.
Speakers can be found @ pricewatch & newegg & all over. I hope you already own the right sound card.
As for the video card & the best picture goes with
the ATI RADEON 8500 its new & (unused by many here) & OEM prices on pricewatch start @ $179 without S&H. The only thing ATI has been slow in the past to update drivers, & most OEM's does not come with all the great software for doing the movies.
The most supported video (largest base) is the GeForce & # 3 is the one to get(now in 3 flavors). The picture is not as good as the ATI but the new XBox should produce games that may only be playable on the GF3, I am not sure if it would work on the ATI which is alittle different then the GF3 but the ATI maybe a better video card & in the same class. Hope this helps
