The two biggest changes IMHO are you can select either LILO or GRUB as your bootloader and the new jouranling filesystem EXT3 is supported.

If you currently use GNOME and want to upgrade, you better remove GNOME first. Apparently, the GNOME included with RH72 is different and copying the new files on top of the old can hose your GNOME install.
