Well, it wouldn't start up on the first try. I removed the PCI video card and it came right up (although painfully 166mhz slow). I've checked Acer's site and this version of the Aspire doesn't show up (maybe I'll tell them the problem with their computer is that it doesn't exists). From what I see there's no way (jumpers or Bios) to eliminate the onboard video other than disabling it in windows. The on board is a ATI Mach64 and the PCI card is a Cirrus Logic. Don't know why they wanted to install this particular card. Anyway thanks for the input. |
