then that is minimal compression.
VCD is 74mins per 650MB, so that is a higher compression.
I dont know if the ATI-AIW's do compression on the fly down to 1.15Mbps, but I dont think its too flashy.
I have the Matrox Rainbow Runner Setup and capture in MJPEG's - either at 352x288 (PAL) or 704x576 depending on my final use.
The smaller format is fine for VCD production and the quality of tuner and Aerial setup I have is almost as good as the original broadcast when viewed on the TV from my Setop Box.
The larger format is for really impressive stuff of 20-30mins of DVD format on a CDR for home movies or stuff that really needs the higher res.
I use TMPEGEnc to encode the MJPEG AVI's and it takes between 4-10times real time for the VCD and 20-30 times for the miniDVD.
The MJPEGs run at 1.4MBps (5GB per hour) for 352x288 and 3.1MBps (13GBphr) at 704x576 and I do it quite easily at ATA66, although I dont think it matters how good your HD is - matrox is prosumer and will alwasy drop at least 1 frame in a 1000.
Hope I've helped.
