I know this is off-topic, but I figured that one of you might know this. Basically my problem is this: I know the probability of an event happening, but I need to know average time needed for this event to happen. For example, let's say that the odds of getting struck by lightning are 1 in a million. How do you find the amount of time that you have to stand before the odds are that you will get struck?

Sorry if this is sort of a bizarre question, it's just driving me crazy right now. Thanks,

Hugh
